Jazz on the Rocks, featuring Mary Ann Palermo and produced by Tom Teeley is the first album released by Averosa Records. There are als0 several single releases of original songs by Mary Ann Palermo covering a wide range of genres from Jazz, Blues, and R&B, to Contemporary Country.

Jazz on the Rocks is an alchemic miracle that transmutes Pop, Rock, and R&B hits into Jazz. The album re-imagines Elvis Costello’s New Wave Rock masterpiece “Pump It Up” as Jazz Rock and The Beatles’ beloved “And I Love Her” (shifted to “And I Love Him”) in the move from Rock Ballad to Jazz Ballad.

Acclaimed Pop songs—whether chartbusters like “Going Out of My Head,” first performed by Little Anthony and the Imperials and then in bossa style by Sergio Mendes, or the hidden gems “Walk Between the Raindrops,” by Donald Fagen, and “Yeh Yeh,” by Georgie Fame— are re-invented as Latin Jazz, Jazz, and Jazz Pop.

The Classic Rock blockbuster “Have a Good Time,” by Paul Simon, becomes Jazz Rock, while Bill Withers’ renowned R&B “Ain’t No Sunshine” is re-born as Soul Jazz, and “Goldfinger,” the Theatrical Rock that launched the eponymous James Bond film, becomes Jazz Pop.

Add the cover of American Songbook treasure “You Go to My Head” with Tom Teeley’s original Jazz Rock song “Ticket to Nowhere” and Mary Ann Palermo’s original Jazz song “You Got Me Started,” and you have Jazz on the Rocks, the extraordinary triumph of Teeley’s arrangements, production, and instrumental virtuosity married to Palermo’s amazing vocal expressions.
